STOP FLOODING US! Protect Atlanta from Toxic Gulch Runoff

ECO ACTION
We, the undersigned residents, business owners, and community stakeholders of Atlanta, respectfully urge Mayor Andre Dickens and the Atlanta City Council to take meaningful action to address the persistent flooding and stormwater runoff originating from the 267-acre Gulch in the heart of downtown.

Each heavy rainfall overwhelms our aging infrastructure, sending polluted water — including raw sewage — into nearby streets, homes, and businesses. This is more than a recurring inconvenience; it’s a growing public health and environmental concern that reflects long-standing challenges in one of the city’s most flood-prone areas.

Why is this important?

It’s time for a change.

We are calling on the City of Atlanta to prioritize and invest in a comprehensive Stormwater Management Infrastructure Plan that can effectively capture and manage 36 million gallons of stormwater in the Gulch area. Proactive planning today can prevent costly damage and hardship tomorrow.

With the 2025 city elections approaching, we want to ensure that Atlanta remains a city that leads with innovation, equity, and care for all communities — especially those most impacted by environmental risks.

Let’s work together to build a safer, healthier, and more resilient Atlanta.

Support long-term solutions.

Invest in our neighborhoods.

Help stop the flooding.
